Virginia NOW invites you to join other members, friends and supporters Tuesday, February 5th in Richmond. Together, we can make history by making Virginia the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.
February 5th is the all-important "crossover" day.
Right now the resolution is being held hostage in committee and we need to convince our delegates to bring the ERA to the full body, where we believe we can win.
On February 5th, we're meeting at 9:30 am in Room E216 (Delegate Kathleen Murphy's Office) of the Pocahontas Building at 900 East Main Street in Richmond. (There may be a line to get in the building - be patient, it will move!) We will have a brief orientation on lobbying and fact sheets on ERA ratification followed by greeting and visiting delegates to get our "Ratify the ERA Message" out. We will also line the first-floor corridor at the Capitol entrance on Bank Street to stand as Silent Sentinels. We will be joining our coalition partner VA Ratify ERA.
Thanks to a small grant from national NOW, we are offering a limited number of reimbursements for you. Your roundtrip mileage to Richmond and back will be funded at $.56/mile. Parking in Richmond will be reimbursed up to $25 with dated receipts. A food allowance of up to $15 will also be paid with dated receipts. An expense form and envelope will be given to you when you arrive at the orientation.
We hope you will fill your car with your friends and join us February 5th to help ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. You can reach Connie Cordovilla with questions or for further information at email@example.com or 703-283-0483. We look forward to seeing you on February 5th in Richmond. Thanks!

#2 Call House leadership and members of the House Privileges and Elections Committee, especially if you are a constituent. Message: 81% of Virginians support the ERA. Send it to the floor for a vote.
