Virginia NOW has been proud to partner with the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association, https://suffragistmemorial.org/ The purpose of the organization was to build the first national memorial to honor the millions who fought for a woman's right to have a voice in her own government. Thanks to the efforts of thousands, the goal has been achieved. The Turning Point Suffragist Memorial is now in the able hands of NOVA Parks, which will maintain the site, which is located at Occoquan Regional Park, 9751 Ox Road, Lorton, VA. 22079. It is open the same hours as the park.
You can take a self-guided tour any time at your leisure. If you have a group of at least 10 that might be interested in a docent-led tour, you can find more information here: https://www.novaparks.com/parks/turning-point-suffragist-memorial/tours
The National Women's History Alliance will continue to provide substantial information on suffrage history as well as information about the memorial itself. Social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, will also be the property of the National Women's History Alliance. You'll still find timely suffrage-related stories on the platforms.
If you would like to receive information about events and updates to the memorial, sign up here.
While the Association is dissolving, the memorial will be here for decades to come. NOVA Parks welcomes any donations and has established a direct Memorial Maintenance Account. Please note that 100% of your donation will be used exclusively toward maintaining the memorial for future generations.
